Hi All.
Just to preface this post, I am not a new user, I have logged almost 400,000km using Waze.
I’ve been monitoring this for several months, and I have become convinced there is a routing issue with the 401 corridor between Milton → Cambridge and Cambridge → Milton.
https://waze.com/en-GB/editor?env=usa&lat=43.46460&lon=-80.05558&zoomLevel=12
I’ve searched the entire area for broken segments or turns, and cannot find anything.
I travel this corrodor 2x per day, and quite often I am getting caulght in traffic / backups that frankly Waze should have routed around.
Waze will not recognize any alternate routes, ie: if I get on the highway at 25 and the traffic is backed up, I click on alternate routes and it tells me “Only 1 route found”
The only time that it ever sends me a different direction is when there is a major traffic event like this morning there was a siginficant accident at Hwy 6 North.
Waze routed me onto the side roads from Cambridge → Milton.
I was travelling along 80kph side roads and Waze routed me back onto the 401 at Hwy 6 South, for me to sit in bumper to bumper traffic all the way to Milton, never travelling more than 40kph.
So basically it took me off 80kph roads to travel on a 40kph road.
This only occours in this specific corridor. Anywhere else that I travel it routes me on different roads depending on the traffic conditions with no issues.
I’m at a loss as to what might be happening.
- The roads that I’m being routed on are already reported as slow, they are yellow or red by the time I end up on them.
- Collisions and backups have already been reported
- All my settings have been reviewed (unpaved allowed, avoid difficult intersections is off, etc..)
- I have uninstalled and re-installed the app, as well as tried it on a different phone
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
