It seems this user has been editing a ton of roads in the Boston metro areas inside 495. I can’t find his user page on the wiki, and it appears he is not a local area manger (He’s based in the DC area). I didn’t see any discussion about this, does anyone have any info regarding this mass-edit? Lots of the roads are now locked at level 3.
And, of course, you couldn’t PM me, because … um, I don’t know?
Road types are being updated in accordance with this announcement, based on the MassDOT functional classification map. At this point, I’ve generally only been doing the roads classified by MassDOT as Principal Arterials, before working down to lower classifications. Of course, assistance from other editors is always appreciated.
Are you using the Federal Classification or the MassDOT classifications (they seem to group things slightly differently but the end result might be the same)? I ask because I thought the new road type guidelines specified the federal classification while your previous message suggests you are looking at the Mass classifications. For the roads I spot-checked, I think you get the same answer for road type but I think the federal classifications are less confusing. (Note that you can select which classifications to view on the map you linked to using the “Road Type” menu.)

I reclassified pretty much everything in my range south of rt 9, I-95, and I-93.
I’ve looked at Brookline, South Boston, Roslindale, West Roxbury, Dorchester, Logan, the west half of Malden, and parts of Somerville, but could certainly use a second set of eyes to find what I’ve missed.
Also, I’m going to post my unlock list to the unlock requests, it might be seen better there.
Cambridge and Somerville are done. I’m working on Everett next.

I see that someone is rearranging the wiki page by county. I like that but I think we should reorganize the page so that county is the top level division and within each county list the cities that are finished, in progress or not started. I don’t think the cities should be headings either. Just create a heading for each status and then have an unordered list of cities under each one. Finally, I think we should put a username with each city that’s “in progress” so we know who’s working on it and don’t step on each other’s toes.
I put everything in there… I’ll work on reorganizing the wiki page once I get home, I’m about to leave work now.
