Santiago de Compostela, Galicia Unlock Request

Hello, good afternoon:

We are the Santiago de Compostela AVPC (Civil Protection Volunteer Association).

Throughout the year, we manage many events that involve the temporary closure of traffic routes.

These are scheduled closures.

For December 31st, we handled the road closures for the race and today, I am setting up the closures for the Three Kings Parade.

Occasionally, it asks me for Level 2 or 3 authorization to perform certain closures. I would like to know how we can make the closures direct or if, on the contrary, they absolutely require supervision.

We also wanted to take this opportunity to ask if there is any way to, for example, load this year’s parade closures for next year, since we have many recurring events and it would be a way to avoid having to close the same streets one by one every year.

To edit the following segments, I need .
Can you help me?

Thanks in advance and thank you very much.

PS: Please note that all closures are indicated by the Local Police, as they are the ones who provide the event routes. The organizations send them the route, the local police approve it, and then they forward it to us to manage (except for the most problematic points, which are their responsibility).

Hello PCSANTIAGODECOMPOSTELA.

I’m Rafael, Huakayo around here, and I’m one of the editors who, along with other colleagues, works as a Local Champ helping with closures or edits in our country.

It’s a pleasure to meet you, and we are grateful for your interest in the Waze app.

In principle, as partners, you shouldn’t have any problem scheduling closures since your status authorizes you to close everything in your area. The reason you might not be able to close a segment is if it has been recently edited; you have to wait for the map to update, which usually takes 24/48 hours before you can.

Regarding lowering the level of the segment you mentioned, it was already at L2 and I see that only you have been able to close it.

And as for saving recurring closures, yes, it is possible. We have an Excel sheet and a wonderful script called WME Advanced Closures that will help you apply closures, schedule recurring closures for roadworks, and handle complex closures like those for a marathon, parade, etc.

I will message you privately and help you get started. Thanks and have a great 2026.
