Calling all Waze enthusiasts! Mark your calendars – the 2025 Local Meetups are here!
We’re thrilled to kick off another year of exciting community gatherings, all thanks to your valuable input. This year promises to be a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow Waze users face-to-face and build lasting friendships.
The full list of Meetups is available HERE. Locations will be confirmed soon.
Here’s a rundown of key details to keep in mind:
- In-Person Meetups: Based on your feedback, we’re continuing on in-person meetups for 2025. This allows for a more dynamic and interactive experience where you can share ideas, network, and celebrate your passion for Waze together.
- Virtual Meetups: Still crave some virtual interaction? We’ve got you covered! If you’d like to host a virtual gathering alongside the in-person meetup in your area, simply connect with your Staff Community Manager to coordinate dates and content. We’ll be happy to assist with the registration process for your virtual event.
- Building a Thriving Community: To ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment for all, Community Coordinators and Staff Community Managers will work together to curate the participant list. Our goal is to see the Waze community flourish and create lasting connections between its members.
- Waze Cafe: If you prefer a smaller, less formal gathering with your local Waze editor community, the Waze Café format is perfect. It’s a great way to connect with fellow editors, discuss local mapping projects, and share tips and tricks. You can submit a request HERE.
- New Community Presentation Template: We’ve whipped up a fresh, stylish template to spice up your community Meetup presentations! Find the template HERE.
- Travel Cap: For those getting to the Meetup by car, fuel expenses are capped at $300. Also, note that first class trains will not be approved for reimbursement.
- Maximizing Participation: To ensure everyone gets a chance to participate, each attendee can join one Local Meetup per year in their country/region of residence. Exceptions may apply based on your Staff Community Manager’s discretion. If you’re an editor traveling outside your home country during a meetup weekend, flights originating from outside your region won’t be covered.
- Invitation-Only Meetups: Please note that meetups are invitation-only to create an optimal experience for registered attendees. This allows us to plan accordingly and ensure a comfortable environment for everyone. If you haven’t received an invitation but are interested in attending, reach out to your Staff Community Manager for written approval.
- Hotel Accommodations: Kindly leave the hotel arrangements to us! Our production company will handle all hotel bookings directly. You can focus on packing your enthusiasm and getting ready for an exciting meetup.
- Stay Informed: Keep an eye on your inbox! Roughly 3 months before your Local Meetup, Coordinators will receive a detailed “Next Steps” email containing the registration form and additional information.
