[SCRIPT IDEA] Delete Alt Segment Names w/o edit mode

I have an idea for the outstanding script writers out there.

It would be nice to be able to delete unneeded Alt Names from a segment without having to go into the edit segment screen on each one.

Not sure if it can even be done or which of the wonderful scripts it might fit into best.

You never know if it can be done until you ask

That would be awesome. I have a lot of county roads that have 4-6 alt names that i can’t verify exist at all. It would be nice, on a per segment basis, to get rid of the crap names.

Something to remember is that if the user has selected multiple segments, then WME will simply list all of the altnames present on those segments regardless of whether or not any of them are common to all the segments, so a bit of sanity checking may be required before attempting to delete the chosen altname from each of the selected segments.

As a further enhancement to this suggestion, it would therefore also be useful to highlight which altnames are common to all the selected segments, as this would allow the script to be used not only for easier altname deletion but also for easier altname verification…

Up to you about release. My personal opinion is the fewer individual scripts to install the better, especially if some functionality fits in with an existing script.
