I’ve created a script that makes it easier to open the correct GIS website for whatever location you are looking at in WME. It takes the coordinates of the center of the visible map, reverse geocodes the location to find the locality, and then provides buttons to open the various GIS of that locality if available.
Thank you for that script, Philistine11. It’s a lot easier than going to the local wiki or searching for them Google-style. Now if someone could devise a front end for all those GIS interfaces that make them work more-or-less the same . . .
Have you tried something like ArcGIS Explorer Desktop? You can pull the data straight from the GIS server and organize it in folders, and you just check checkboxes to enable filters as you need them.
I’m not sure Waze wants us to use the copyrighted data but perhaps it would be OK. Also I work in about 30 or 40 counties. That single button sure is nice.
I saw that and added it in but still no go - the button displays upon initial load but clicking it does nothing. Panning the map then removes the button and replaces it with the county name.
The only time the button is removed is if the state is not listed. I just confirmed that OH is listed. Are you sure you’re in Ohio? What county are you having a problem with? I can test myself also.
