[Script] WME Open Street View in New Window

Hi Map Editors!

I created a userscript to open Google Street View in a separate window.

Love this feature! The dedicated GSV window is great. Could you also add a blue line to the map after clicking the Street View icon? That way, we’ll know which roads have Street View available before clicking on them.

Hey Andy! Thank you for the suggestion, for the blue line, there’s a another user script I use called “Street View Availability”, you can find it here: WME Street View Availability

I’m very familiar with this script - I’ve been using it for a long time! Currently, I use the Shift+T shortcut to activate the “Street View Availability” layer before running your script. It would be amazing if your script could natively include this blue line feature.

Here’s a suggestion: When users click your script icon, if they have “Street View Availability” installed, it could automatically enable the street view layer for them. This would create a smoother workflow!

I just want to check… Are you aware clicking on the word Google in WME opens that view in Google? So on the map it opens Maps at that location, and on the street view side it opens Street view with your current view.

yes. i use it all the time to check gmaps

Thank you; every day a school day - never realised the extra capability.

One thing anyone using this needs to remember is that technically the only information we can use from Google is what’s within WME. So even though it should be the same street view, technically you are supposed to use the native SV to get and add information to Waze.
