Well, you just made toolbox useless to me. I’m a responsible person who edits wisely, and earned L3 one edit at a time. I have no interest in becoming an AM.
Thanks for a great tool, but now there is no point in my using it any more.
Yes, why did you need to take away my loop-splitter button? It’s trivial (but time-consuming) to fix these by hand (especially since Toolbox highlights them), so what’s the big deal about letting me use a script to do the same thing?
X2. I don’t understand why these were taken away when it is a VERY useful tool, and there are so few CMs around since it isn’t an automatic upgrade anymore.
Now I have to select EVERY node I want to fix, instead of clicking one button.
Sorry to interrupt the current discussion, but I’d like to report a small issue with the script.
It has to do with the external link for Mappy. The issue I have is that the link provided is too zoomed-out compared to what I currently have in the editor, or compared to what other links provide.
As you can see, it is a bit too zoomed out compared to the editor. A better link, more zoomed-in, would be http://fr.mappy.com/#/0/M2/Lp/TDiscovery/N151.12061,6.11309,3.0669,50.39775/Z11/
There’s probably some rounding happening to translate the zoom level of the editor to the zoom level of Mappy, so maybe that rounding can be changed to round up so that, in this case, zoom level 6 in the editor gets translated to zoom level 11 in Mappy, instead of 10.
Identically, I think it would be nice if the Mappy button linked to the road view, and not the aerial view. So a better link for me would be http://fr.mappy.com/#/2/M2/Ls/TDiscovery/N151.12061,6.11309,3.0669,50.39775/Z11/ (Lp is changed to Ls). That last one is a matter of preference, though, so I’d understand if it was not implemented.
I agree to an extent. I have no care what so ever for points or rank. It all comes with time. I can edit all I really need to anyway or at least know how to get things fixed if I can’t.
I must say though, that spending all the time I do in the boondocks fixing little towns and back roads, most of my time is spent fixing these issues that can be fixed in one click for a rank 6 or CM. Whichever it is now.
I could move through these areas twice as fast and have more time for researching road names, correctness and all the other more important issues if I didn’t spend some much time worrying about soft turns, loops and revcons.
I don’t expect it to change due to this. Just keep in mind that a lot of us aren’t here for points and could use some of these tools effectively.
As it is rank 4 is one of the more… well useless ranks.
As long as you’re making quality edits and are up to date on the guidelines, it should be no problem. This is actually a way of protecting the great tools provided from abuse by editors who have accumulated enough points to earn the ranks, but are not making good quality edits.
Would it be possible to add a button to “Permalink to Zillow” next to the other permalink buttons? This is help with new roads, house addresses, etc. I have used Zillow and other real estate sites to confirm changes.
