Oyyo, I often like to strip the layer attributes from a permalink before sending/posting it, so that the editor who clicks it isn’t forced to view with my chosen set of layers. Would it be easy to create a button for your toolbar which would automatically create a “clean” permalink?
Hey Oyyo, thanks for all the efforts you put in to make life and Waze easier for us.
I especially welcome the change with road ranks/traffic locks to reflect the new developement in that subject.
An excellent innovation is the colourcoded display of the lock in relation to automatic level, that’s the thing we are in fact really looking for, not just the plain value.
I just wonder, if it might be a good idea to switch the red and green colour. To prevent damage to the map of Vienna we set a higher locking standard there, the City is virually ready and no area for new or unexperienced editors (we spent most of the time correcting errors).
Now Vienna is in a bright and shiny red, indicating that all locks are higher than necessary by terms of autolock. But in fact, we are on the safe side, so we have to look for the green segments, where traffic would imply a higher lock than applied, where there is an underprotected segment.
IMHO it would be better to have the safe side in green and the lower manual locks in red, just because we are trained all our life to pay attention to red zones.
Seeing lock as a protection id would be valid to see lower manual locks as underprotected, calling for action to be taken…which would might be better in red than in green.
Just my thoughts
Edit: before one asks: yes of course I tested this in beta, and in an area with active road ranks
1.4.4.4
Update: Highlight of manual locks: red and green colors switched
Update: L3 features are not level based anymore, but are available for Area Managers
Update: L5 features are not level based anymore, but are available for Country Managers
Fix: Safari: bug in automatic extension update from browser
Can I ask what the reason was to change access for features from level based to Area Managers and Country Managers? I use these tools all the time and now I don’t have access to all of them.
I’m not sure if this has been requested before or if there is plans to implement this but is it possible to add an auto clear/fix U-Turns & Dead-End U-Turns? The same way we have Auto Fix Unconfirmed turns? Even if U-turns are permitted, I’d rather go back after they are all cleared and add the select few U-Turns manually afterwards.
Additionally, how about an auto fix for Reverse connections as well?
Ok, my next questions is can we make fixing unconfirmed turns and loops features available to something lower then CM? These are issues that all editors deals with. Fixing loops is the feature I miss the most as it is a headache to fix them manually.
Another quick question on this – how do you determine the CM status? I’ve only ever seen an “AM” flag on user accounts from Waze. And is it tied to a country? (i.e. I’m CM for Canada – if I’m editing in the US, would (and should) I still have those tools available?)
I do like the change – I just want to understand it.
I think the “fix all visible” should remain a CM-level thing. If the code could be set up to fix the issue when a node or segment that is part of these loops is selected, I’d be ok with that being extended.
Ultimately, once you’re CM, points don’t mean much… so being able to kill these in one swoop isn’t affecting anything. Anything prior to that should require at least some clicky-work.
This sounds reasonable. If you could select one segment/node from each loop on the screen you wanted to fix, then click the tool to fix them all in one shot. That should be allowed for AM. They still have to manually select each loop that will be affected.
Level 6 seems a little high, can an exception be made for US Champs? Why give us ability to auto fix unconfirmed roads but not reverse connections or U-Turns?
Ok, it may not be as great as you think. I’m an AM in the US, CM in Canada. I just went to my US AM area and was able to use the keyboard shortcuts for the fix-all-visible functions for uturns, loops, reverse turns, soft (unconfirmed) turns, unnecessary nodes, etc.
