[Script] WME Toolbox (until 1.5.9, now archived)

I agree with Alan that WMECH would probably be the best place for a highlight in general, but if Toolbox eventually implements a mass nudge function, it could make sense to highlight unnudged HNs on individual segments. This would be more convenient if we use the paradigm we have in place where lower rank editors can see the ones in need of nudging and individually nudge them, but only AM/CM/5 or CM/5 would have the ability to mass nudge any unnudged HNs.

A highlight at a macro level without having selecting a segment in the HN interface would be difficult. Each segment has an attribute for whether or not has HNs, and the existing House Numbers highlight works at that macro level. Actual data for each individual HN though is only retrieved on an as-needed basis when you click on each segment in the HN interface. We would have to iterate through segments and get the HN data for each to present such a highlight.

For now, I’ve added the following issues as feature requests:

Yes, it is built into native WME. If you want to clear all geometry, not simplify it. Simply select area, on left tab toggle to point and back to area. Tada… You have a small square with 4 geonodes at the stop point.

What I meant to ask: if there was a “simplify geometry” tool for area places. Many bodies of water, parks, golf courses etc. are quite are drawn with far too much detail. Previous posts have complained that often one can not remove more than a couple dozen geometry nodes without a “save” error.

FYI: This feature request is on the Tb issue list for some time as #124. ETA? Soon - probably.

FWIW, there is similar functionality in the WME Magic Wand tool…

:o

I remember trying this a couple of months ago and unless I saved as a point, the area remained in the original configuration when returning to area… a simple toggle didn’t clear it.

I haven’t tried in a while.

Edit: Just confirmed, a save as a point is required.

are these published somewhere?

I do not believe @bgodette ever published the landmark geometry simplifier script. It doesn’t work any longer, so a new solution is needed.

The latest WME update appears to have broken the ‘Clear Road Geometry’ feature.
It keeps saying ‘no segment selected’ despite the fact I have a segment selected.

[Oops, sorry, wrong thread…]

I think you picked the wrong thread for that request?

I can’t duplicate this problem, the ‘Clear Road Geometry’ function works fine for me in WME 1.9. Any hints on how to reproduce the issue?

Why, yes. Yes I did.

Measuring tool will be helpful in certain applications such as using state DOT descriptions of where state roads end so much distance from a cross street.

Afraid that after the update of toolbox, the problem disappeared, so I can’t reproduce it, either.

Thanks for the update.

I just might have one for you: https://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=819&t=129963.

Toolbox 1.5.7 for Chrome and Firefox is live:

1.5.7 (20150222) New: The Toolbox layer icon has moved out of the map to WME's toolbar (#22) New: Measurement tool, which can display the length of a selected segment, a place area, or a free ruler (#173) Fix: Segments with null elevation (a WME display/timing bug) are no longer highlighted as ground elevation (#183) Fix: Segment/Place list keyboard shortcuts should now work again (#185) Update: Unconfirmed turns at dead-end nodes are no longer touched/fixed by the internal JNF code and the "auto fix unconfirmed turns" function (#180) Update: Segment/place lists have a new column "Editable", thus allowing to filter for editable segments/places (#181) Update: New experimental table layout of the segment/place lists, which should in a later release allow us to freeze the table headers when scrolling down [GC only, for now] (#139)

Very very nice.
LOVE the measurement tool!
