The functionality to change the dead end turns was removed from WME awhile ago. If it is ever added back into WME, then we can re-enable this behavior in Toolbox. In the meantime, using that feature was/is a quick way to get throttled.
Oh, you mean the actual dead end (end of segment) itself, and not the turns in and out of that dead end, got it. I had gone in and “fixed” a few before I posted to check and it worked as it should, so I was confused!
Since yesterday, Toolbox now limits visualization of revcons, roundabout problems, soft turns, and u-turns to L3. Why? This means as a Lvl 2 who is nearing 25K edits, I can no longer fix any revcons I create or fix any of these issues in my areas. Please explain the rationale. Thank you.
No changes were made to those behaviors for your rank, but we did move the Highlight Layers icon out of the map and into the Toolbar. This is what I see with a rank 2 test account, and it appears that everything is available.
Those are not “settings”. That’s a Quick Help section with a screenshot that looks nothing like the current layer switcher. It is probably the original screenshot from Oyyo’s first version. Check the actual, functional Highlight Layers, and it looks almost nothing like that old screenshot. Nothing changed in the latest version to restrict those functions to L3. “Help” just hasn’t been updated since 2013.
Since the Highlight layers will not show (maybe the Safari version continues to lag), I assumed this was why I could not see the bad roundabout highlighted that I know needs to be corrected. windows screenshot
I cannot replicate in Firefox either with the rank 2 test account. You might try just removing Toolbox in the Add-ons–>Extensions area re-installing the 1.5.7 xpi file from scratch.
Dead-end u-turns are still in WME and do still need to be manually enabled on segments until Waze either mass-fixes the dead-ends to allow u-turns, or they fix the routing server to allow a stop-point on a dead-end segment without an enabled u-turn.
Two options still exist for this: 1) connect another segment, enable the u-turn and delete the temp segment, or 2) use standalone JNF which still has the enable dead-end u-turn functionality.
Without getting involved in the argument one way or the other as to whether something needs doing about unconfirmed dead-end u-turns . . . . if Toolbox is not currently doing anything about them, should it be highlighting them?
First a HUGE thanks for the measurement tool. (any further chance of multiple segment spanning and prompt distance variation of the Segment Distance, as we discussed?)
Next, a tiny hitch, not really a bug, and probably not worth worrying about, but I tried to change a highlight while I had a Street View screen open, and couldn’t get the box to stay open long enough to get from one side of the screen to the other. Just thought I’d mention it, if there’s an easy fix.
