Having a similar issue in Firefox. If I disable and re-enable it works the first time I open WME, but if I refresh the page or open another tab then I get the intro messages but no toolbar, and no button for the labels.
We suspect this might be a timing issue, where WME in some places does not immediately deliver the country ID for the new country-dependant rights system. We are testing methods to deal with this fact in the code.
Iâve complained about âsaving issuesâ in other threads. Other people in the world donât seam to have this problem. I wonder if it is connected to this problem?
I noticed that whenever the country is noted I do not get information about private messages and no toolbar. If I donât get the message about country being set to United States I get the message about private messages and the toolbar works.
I think thatâs unlikely, as these âsaving issuesâ were present before Tb got the Country Framework (since 1.6.0), and the present problems in Tb are clearly linked to the Country Framework.
But I heard from users that their saving issues are gone since Tb 1.6.x, but I havenât understood what is/was causing this issue.
On my work computer I canât run scripts so I donât have Tb. I can save with no problems. I come home and canât do anything without WME freezing up. I didnât have these problems until Tb updated the other day.
Short answer: caused by a TB highlight.
Long answer: a highlight was triggered during the save process, and some data were not available. It causes a function to crash, and stop saving process initiated by WME. Fortunately, this handler was called after upload to waze sever, but before the black screen removal.
What errors show up in the console (F12) when the save hangs? It might be connected to the highlighting, as other scripts with highlighting were reported to also trigger this save hang issue.
EDIT: Oops, I somehow missed the previous post when writing this one, sorry for the double post.
1.6.2 said it loaded properly and says it initialized but did not see AM settings or read PM mailbox. This is for the US server, when I change to the world server it loads normally. When I edit an area on the World server it works fine, just not on the US server.
One final gasp. One more opinion on the removal of the âunneeded node removalâ function.
Regardless of whether it taxes the server or not, losing that ability to clear scores of unneeded nodes on a âsingle segmentâ, by area managers and above, is just inappropriate.
We have straight roads in my areas that are âwigglyâ from dozens of nodes. Before, one simple click, move a few of the remaining nodes, and done. The road was fine. Then there is those roads, post-2009, where someone went nuts and added scores and scores of unneeded nodes for a 100-foot curve in the road ⌠it was one-click, one second, move on.
This function saves valuable editor time. When weâre trying to fix a rural area road segment, for what may be itâs one and only fix ⌠EVER. We donât need one hand tied.
Take away the ability to select multiple segments ⌠that sounds good to me! But at least allow a single segment tool for 4+ editors, AMs, etc. I mean, seriously ⌠we have scripts that flush the toilet for us.
Thatâs my take on elimination of this tool. I do hope that it is only a temporary loss.
I agree with you Steve, but this is something to impress upon your RC so those feelings can be forwarded to the US TbCC.
My issue is that TB is flat out broken.
Most times, the toolbar doesnât appear. Iâll select a segment, press â1â to clear geometry, and I get a response âNo segment selectedâ
Iâve tried the F12 trick, no joy.
I can reinstall and it works the first time the browser is reloaded. Next time it loads, or after a save operation or loading from a PL, no TB.
