In case you are using Toolbox (< 1.7.7) on Firefox and are now getting a message that your add-on has expired, please be sure to switch to the listed add-on on Firefox Add-ons (link in first post).

Does Toolbox have certain limitations when running on Linux? I’m using Chrome for my browser, but I’ve just started to play around more with it on the Linux side of my hobby. It doesn’t seem to show road lock levels even when selected, and in the toolbar, it says that the mini map is disabled when I hover the mouse over it.

So I was just kinda wondering if this is a bug, or by design…

For the road lock levels, click the red lock icon in the toolbar to enable them. Sorry, I don’t have any suggestions about the mini map.

Updating cleared my error messages on loading but I have heard of anomalies in local discussions. One is the deselection of the central segment when selecting whole street.

It is my opinion that the Toolbox ‘simplifiable segments’ highlight is too liberal with what it suggests can be simplified, anyway.

Segment geometry is not a big deal. “Extra” geometry handles do not take up an appreciable amount of “database space” in a database that includes and encourages full-resolution photos for venues. This is old thinking.

If the segment lines up with the aerial, it’s fine.

I agree with your thought about ‘simplifiable segments’ being too liberal, and “database space” but what are your thoughts about the processing time taken up by perhaps millions of unneeded geometry handles? Don’t all those unnecessary vector calculations have to be done over and over each time a tile update is done?

If you are referring to highlighting of Simplifiable segments, permissions are dependent on editor level and role. There is a link to the active permissions of the current release by country in the Wazeopedia for Toolbox

using toolbox 1.7.9 and I’ve noticed twice in the past day where trying to use the ‘copy segment attributes’ tool that the tool remains grayed out (after I’ve selected multiple segments) and if I hover over the tool I get a message that at least two segments must be selected.

in both cases, I was fixing red roads, trying to copy street name and city from one segment to others. the last segment selected was the ‘copy from’ if that matters.

This has not happened when I select two or more non-‘red’ roads.

Thanks for the answer. As weird as it can be, I deselected it in the ToolBox configuration, restarted Chrome, selected it again and voilá, it showed up

Place list of TB shows places loaded by WME, and if I remember well, it includes places in your feed.
