no problem. i just checked some notes i had. one area had about 10,400 PLs and the scan failed to CSV. once i split it in half the scans came out to 6,500 and 3,900 and the scans exported to CSV. so the limit seems to be somewhere between 6,500 and 10,400. just a small range to narrow it down ![]()
I had always done what ojlaw does, making smaller areas to scan. I just struggle with the mechanics of splitting my areas and, like I said, hate to start the scans over since they take so long for me. I might be a tad impatient sometimes? ![]()
Looks like I havenāt run into this because Firefox doesnāt have a length limit on URIs, as opposed to Chrome, which has a 2 MB limit (for US characters, thatās 2097152, which comes out to a maximum of 2097124 allowed characters in a scan with the way the data is being generated here) (thanks, stackoverflow). So if you run your scans in Firefox, you wonāt have any issue using the CSVs until this is fixed. The good news is that there seems to be ways to get it working right, Iāll just have to spend some time understanding it.
To follow up, right after reading this post I installed Tampermonkey and WAL in Firefox on one of my computers and started a scan that had failed a couple of days ago. Roughly five hours later, the scan completed and the CSV file saved successfully. ![]()
It would still be really nice to get that fixed for Chrome or give an additional option for the output format, but using Firefox is an interesting option anyway. I can let a scan run and still be able to edit using my preferred Chrome!
I have pushed update 1.4.4 which includes fixes issues downloading CSV files in Chrome for every plugin! Also included are a fix to recreate the WAL tab when you change modes or units (imperial <-> metric) and added unknown direction segments as an issue in the streets plugin. Let me know if you have any issues.
This could be user issue because it started before I triggered the update today, and it continued after the update.
But, I ended up with this all in one cell when I exported to CSV. I have successfully run WAL scans and exported to CSV within the last week. The only active scripts were toolbox, WMECH, WAL & the associated plugins. This was in Chrome.
Interesting. Looks like the encoding didnāt get decoded by the browser for some reason. What version of chrome do you have?
Chrome- 66.0.3359.139
I also just replicated this in Firefox 59.0.3
Shoot, looks like I messed up and didnāt test properly when trying to get it out⦠Iāll have a fix out sometime soon
Looks like I was able to get it fixed now. Update your plugins and everything should be fixed
The latest version gives good output again. Iāll start a scan to run tonight to check the CSV fix.
Thank you! ![]()
works like a charm! Thank you!
I wonder if it is possible to combine WME WAL and WME Magic ⦠like old WME Valdidator. This is what I miss the most about WME Validator
Just to follow up, I ran several scans this past weekend that gave large CSV files (properly formatted) would have failed previously. THANK YOU, CCM for the speedy fixes!
New versions of the Cities (v1.1.4) and Places (v1.3.5) plugins were released! Cities now works with the Cities Overlay and WME Geometries scripts! If you load city polygons with either of these, you should see them appear in the Cities drop down now (as well as any other scripts that add polygons to the map). If thereās anything that doesnāt look right, or another script that should be there but isnāt, just let me know and I can look into it.
The Places plugin now has Residences in the category selection, so have fun finding pictures of everyoneās house and stalking them from afar with high-quality grainy images.
This script is becoming my new addiction, thanks for all the work @crazycaveman!
One plug-in that I believe could also be useful is URs/MPs/etc.
There is already a script for tracking URs, MP, and MCs: WME UR-MP Tracker. While I could create a plugin to scan URs and MPs, I donāt think it would be as robust as that script. That being said, if thereās still interest in a separate plugin, I can work on one, it just might be a while fore itās ready.
I havenāt tried that script. Thanks, Iāll take a look.
feature request- scan for only roundabout. exclude roundabout is an option but sometimes iām trying to find just roundabouts.
also, iām not sure if itās just me or working as designed but after scans when WME re-adds the layers(from the no layer scan state) there are more layers present on the map. these layers are layers from other scripts such as FC layer, Zip Codes, and Counties(hmm, looks like those are MoM scripts). the layer check box for those layers is still unchecked but they are definitely on the map. then if i click a permalink from the WAL scan the new tab will open with those layers on. Iām wondering if there is a way to make those layers not turn on after a scan?
thank you for all your hard work!
That was an issue with how WazeWrap handled the layers checkboxes, but was fixed a little while ago and should have been included in updates since then. Are you using WAL version 1.4.4? As for the roundabouts, I will take that into consideration
