Scripts

Waze Editor Scripts are pieces of code that run within your web browser while you are using the Waze Map Editor (WME). They are developed by the Waze community editors and developers to enhance and simplify the editor’s functionality.

Waze Editor Scripts are typically written in JavaScript. They are run using a browser extension called a userscript manager. The most popular options we use is Tampermonkey, available for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera, and Microsoft Edge.

Go to the Chrome Web Store, Firefox Add-ons, or the extension store for your browser and install Tampermonkey. Once you have a userscript manager installed, you can install scripts from various sources. The userscript manager will then automatically run the scripts on the specified web pages (usually the Waze Map Editor).

Waze Editor Scripts are not officially supported by Waze. They might occasionally break due to updates to the Waze Map Editor. Be cautious about installing scripts from unknown or untrusted sources, as they could potentially contain malicious code. Stick to reputable sources like Greasyfork. Some scripts can consume significant browser resources, potentially slowing down the editor. Be mindful of the number of scripts you have enabled.
