Sent driving ETA is not being received

Let me first begin by saying that the two accounts I have on Waze were never combined so I cannot write this from the account that I am actively using. If the two accounts could be combined this would be wonderful.

Now, I was sent a link to someone’s trip this morning. I tapped on the file and all I got was a link to the end destination. There was no road map showing me where the driver was at any time. This is/was really frustrating as I needed to follow their trip. Each way I tried to access the trip on my phone I would get a signal that the trip would begin from my house or just show me the end route. I don’t believe that is the point of the program. Help would be wonderful.

This has happened to me before, in both cases the person who sent the link had no network or had canceled the shared ETA link by mistake. This resulted in it only showing the destination as a shared location.

Make sure your friend’s shared ETA is active on their phone, that you got the right link and that they do have a network connection with data to be able to transmit their location on the map.
