Single Track Lane with Passing places; how to classify

Hi guys. Not sure how to edit this road. Furzy Lawn Lane and Stable Hill are, in places, single-track lanes with passing places. There are width and weight restrictions on them. These lanes are totally unsuitable to direct traffic down to avoid Lyndhurst. If two cars, each towing a caravan, are directed down it from opposite directions, they’ll probably end up stuck!

Although the speed limit is technically 30/40, it is unsafe to drive them over 15mph in places. How can these roads be classified to avoid Waze sending drivers down here? Can I, perhaps, set it as a private road so only local traffic will be routed through there?

Personally I believe these roads are fine as they are.

Waze will base it’s journey times or actual speeds, not the speed limit, so if the average speed is 15mph (or even less at peak times judging by the queues seen on StreetView :o ), then that route is less likely to be picked by Waze.

At other times though it is still the best route for certain destinations so by adding any restrictions we are likely to get queries as to why Waze is not using what is a legal route.

Remember that Waze is primarily for private car and taxis and I would actively discourage drivers of larger vehicles from using it. Unfortunately we don’t have any options to add width/height/weight restrictions at the moment so we have to rely on lorry drivers, drivers with caravans etc to actually look out the windscreen and obey the signs.
