I live in this area and I have always thought that the Chine Avenue mapping is a little out. The road has a pedestrian only part to it, so it is broken into two parts in the map, but I am not sure if this is the best way to show it.
Reason: In this view from the left hand side of the map, the road becomes a footpath from the first bend where the trees start and then it becomes road again a little bit further into the trees than point B of the second section of the road. Both sections of Chine Avenue are effectively no through roads to vehicles, but pedestrians and bicycles can traverse through.
As Waze is intended for use but car drivers we don’t map footpaths unless then improve routing to a destination. Waze would never route a pedestrian or cyclist from one side to the other even if we mapped a footpath.
The only thing wrong with this mapping was the junction of Chine Ave / Braeside Rd / Bronte Way didn’t match reality, which I have now changed.
