New point system is great, finally getting rewarded for all the edits! Very hansomly I may add!
Great new point system indeed! Now if only I could get home in time to name the new roads I drive before Ookpic gets to em to get those points!
Sorry dude. I’ll leave yours alone.
lol Ookpic. Jetta gets 1000 km per tank. Hard to compete with that.
Right… Just sent in my request for area manager… Can’t handle the permission denied messages anymore heh heh… I’ve got more time to edit than new roads I drive… I’d rather help name all the streets than have Toronto a mess of reds lines…
See y’all out there ![]()
Hey name away! I am not getting as much edit time lately as I was so someone needs to. There’s a bunch more about to show up on the map for the area between Dorchester and London for you!
Hello,
Durham Region/East-GTA here (Whitby, Ajax, Pickering, Oshawa). Having fun with the Wazing back and forth to work. Lots to do out east here. Sorry though, I think I broke Brock St in Pickering. Tried to delete what looked like a wonky street near the 401 and it went nuts. The south end of Brock now seems to go into oblivion. Might be a Waze general bug. Hope it can be fixed.
Thanks much,
Fred

Hey Fred
I’ve seen this happen a few times. Only way I could get it fixed was to delete the entire road that goes on forever and either add the road manually by using existing GPS points if you know approximately where it was. Or re-drive it and build the road again. It will be really nice when and if we ever get aerial photos! Will make updating and editing soooooo much simpler.
I can’t wait for aerials! Oh man! It was on the world site under canada too, but waze team told me to stick to NA site and maps should be forthcoming! Soon I hope!

I’m now a region manager for my area, so I will get this fixed once the CDN maps get loaded. Maybe now the GTA 401 Corridor might actually make some sense. The current map has the east and west bound routes intertwining in a few places.
I have mixed feelings about this base map load. I hope it turns out right in the end but part of me is wondering if I haven’t wasted a whole bunch of time and gas… Guess I’ll find out in about 2 days. ![]()
I’m kinda wondering the same thing. It really sounds like the new aerial maps automatically insert all the roads. I guess we’ll see. I’m anxious to see what it looks like for sure!
I thought the same thing and then suddenly felt really bad about myself when I realized how out of my way I went so many times to record some roads or fix up as much as I did!
I need a hobby!
Hey at least we got some editing experience in and if the “auto mapping” is anything like some of my US areas, there will still be lots to do. I hope anyway.
If we could get a Province box instead of the State box, I’d be all set.
anyone have aerials yet! Still red box telling me not to update roads yet but I can see a lot of pretty roads were added but many are of the minor highway roadtype. Oh well at least you can see them on further zoom levels!
Yup same here. Looks like the majority of roads are complete but I still have no aerials. Wish there was some sort of update as to how its coming along.
Haha prob a bit late but how awesome were the Olympics??? Most gold medals by any nation at a winter olympics! WOW!!! Vancouver 2010 was simply the best thing ever!!!
I work in Waterloo and live just North of the city… any areas you need help with? I find almost every road I am on to be accurate.
Hello All,
I am in Milton, and have requested Area Manager. So, hopefully that works out
I have a background in Urban Planning, so I have this natural attraction to this software, and the work being performed. I can’t wait until the Canadian support is a bit more defined, such as province support and correct city names (and up to date aerial maps :-P)
I look forward to chatting with all of you.
Cheers!
David
