Hi everyone. So through Reddit, I found out that there seems to be an active speed camera at Bigbay point and young. I tried to make a point reference on the map so you can see it below:
Its facing young st away from Huronia. Its right on the school crosswalk with no warning but a little sign and thats it. It says “testing” but I don’t trust it. Please mark the speed camera at that location ASAP. Its located up the pole on the crosswalk.(unavailable attachment: IMG_0115.PNG)
Volunteer responding - We are in direct contact with the City of Barrie, and the above camera (and one other) was originally supposed to go live on Monday, but has been postponed. The City has requested we not post the camera to Waze before the go live date (new date forthcoming).

I took it myself. Once I found out it was flashing I drove down there myself to make sure I got the right location etc. what worries me is if we are not fast enough and other people fall victim to it because the city played games. As long as they are marked so we know as drivers
At the moment it seems from my conversations that the City is not in this for the money grab, being that they want to voluntarily advertise the camera locations on Waze (they reached out to us to get help adding the cameras). They seem (at least at this stage of the program) to just want people to slow down.
