Speed Cameras do not exist

At the intersection of Highway 99 and 168th Street SW in Lynnwood WA, there are several traffic cameras shown.

Actually, there are NO speed cameras at this intersection. There is only a sign warning drivers that the city of Lynnwood uses speed cameras. There are also signal control cameras and traffic engineering cameras at this intersection but none of these are used to check vehicle speed.

I removed all of the speed cameras from the map but now they are back and I am unable to remove them.

Can the falsely reported cameras be removed? Can the map be locked so that they don’t keep coming back?

Have they been approved by a user? If so, please PM that user directly to resolve this issue.

Otherwise, please post a Permalink so other editors can look at the intersection.

Do the cameras that are there catch red light jumping? If they do, then a ‘traffic camera’ warning seems sensible, if Waze is going to warn about enforcement csmeras at all?

Waze supports 3 types of Cameras…

  • Speed - Will warn if you go over the set speed
  • Red Light - Will warn at all times (Can also have a speed set)
  • Dummy - These are fake cameras or empty camera cases governments put up to fool people.
See the Cameras page of the Waze wiki for more info…

Andy has it right, you need to PM kickahaota who is the AM who approved those lights. We really hesitate to just delete camera’s that have been approved by an AM.
