Speed Cameras Need Adding - Boulder, CO (9 Intersections)

Hi local editors,

Boulder has installed speed cameras at the following intersections that need to be added to the map. These cameras capture speeding violations in all four directions:

  • 28th & Canyon
  • 28th & Arapahoe
  • Arapahoe & 30th
  • Foothills & Arapahoe
  • Valmont & 47th
  • Baseline & 27th Way
  • Table Mesa & Foothills Pkwy
  • 28th & Jay Rd
  • Canyon & 15th
  • Broadway & Pine

I have just checked all of these locations, as well as along CO 119, and can confirm that speed cameras are showing in the Waze app at each of them.

Thank you for compiling this consolidated list and helping us keep the Waze community informed and the map accurate.

I checked to make sure my “Speed Camera” & “Speed and Red Light Camera” settings are turned on for both “Show on Map” and “Alert While Driving”. I am not getting the alerts (or seeing the Speed Camera icon) while passing through the listed intersections, which is why I posted here. Curious if you might know why I’m not getting the alerts?

Where exactly were you driving that you didn’t see the cameras? Also, many of these camera locations are already mapped as red light cameras, and they have been in place for a while. Waze can support cameras that are both red light and speed enforcement in the same camera. But they currently don’t exist in all directions. Are you saying there are now no less than 4 speed cameras at each of these intersections?

Thanks for bringing this up! I reviewed these intersections again, and here are the routes of travel where Waze currently has a camera notification set up:

  • 28th & Canyon – 28th St, northbound and southbound
  • 28th & Arapahoe – 28th St southbound, Arapahoe Ave eastbound
  • Arapahoe & 30th – Arapahoe Ave eastbound and westbound
  • Foothills & Arapahoe – Foothills Pkwy northbound and southbound, Arapahoe Ave eastbound and westbound
  • Valmont & 47th – Valmont Rd eastbound
  • Baseline & 27th Way – Baseline Rd westbound
  • Table Mesa & Foothills Pkwy – Table Mesa Dr eastbound and westbound
  • 28th & Jay Rd – 28th St southbound
  • Canyon & 15th – Canyon Blvd eastbound and westbound
  • Broadway & Pine – Broadway northbound and southbound

All of the cameras listed above are red light cameras only, with the one exception at Broadway & Pine. At that intersection Waze shows both a red light camera and a speed camera for northbound and southbound Broadway.

This is what’s currently set up in Waze. We may need to review these intersections again, and feedback from drivers like yourself will help us confirm the accuracy of each camera and which directions they’re active for.

Arapahoe & 30th

I drive through many of these intersections almost daily (which is why I’m interested in getting the alerts). The City of Boulder will start issuing automated speeding fines through the mail on Sept 1. I contacted the city transportation department asking which directions (Northbound/Southbound/Eastbound/Westbound) will the cameras monitor – I will post their reply asap.

Having the speed camera alerts available through Waze will greatly benefit local drivers imho – thanks for your help.

We are looking at a GIS layer that the city provides which has some more information about speed camera locations. We will let you know when we confirm the cameras and update the map.

" The specific information about the direction of travel being enforced at each location is listed below:

Three sites where warnings began 8/25/25 and citations will begin 9/25/25:

  • 28th St at Jay Rd - SB 28th St enforced

  • Canyon Blvd at 15th St - WB Canyon Blvd enforced

  • Foothills Pkwy at Arapahoe Ave - NB and NBLT Foothills Pkwy enforced

Eight additional sites where warnings are anticipated to begin 11/1/25 and citations 12/1/25:

  • 28th St at Canyon Blvd - NB and SB 28th St enforced

  • 28th St at Arapahoe Ave - SB 28th St and WB Arapahoe Ave enforced

  • Arapahoe Ave at 30th St - EB Arapahoe Ave enforced

  • Valmont Rd at 47th St - WB Valmont Rd enforced

  • Baseline Rd at 27th Way - EB Baseline Rd enforced

  • Table Mesa Dr at Foothills Pkwy - WB Table Mesa Dr enforced

One site has already conducting automated speed enforcement for over a year:
