I know nothing is currently being done with speed limits in the app, but I have noticed them in the editor. Just a heads up (as I am a lowly Rank 3 and cannot edit interstates), that at some point yesterday, the speed limit signage on I-70 was changed from 65 to 70 from MD-144 in Frederick to US-29 in Ellicott City. I can verify (by drive-by) that it has been changed from MD-97 to US-29, as that is part of my daily commute.
Anyone know where else the limit was upgraded?
I know kodi75 used the SHA press release to add the new 70 mph zones to I-70, and I think we had gotten rest of the interstates done a few weeks ago. If you want to help reporting speed limits, try the Waze Speed Limit Marker applet for your phone.
I-95 north of MD-24 (and possibly even MD-43) to the Delaware state line could probably also support 70 MPH, but that’s just one fellow’s opinion. Guess they’re still studying that.
Last I heard they were still thinking of extending the express lanes further north, maybe they will consider 70mph after that or instead of the extra lanes.
