Great App!!! I use this App every day for work with only a few disruptions every now and then. One problem that I can not figure out is when I am starting out, the app has me going in the wrong direction. I pretty much have to make a u-turn at every start. The arrow is always facing the wrong direction. This also make parking lot directions impossible.
Can you provide more details and perhaps a permalink and perhaps we can help. It all depends where you are when you start and where you are trying to go, and if perhaps there are some incorrect turn settings in the map.

I think he is talking about the app not knowing he is facing north, south, east, or west. In the morning when I leave, one day it will pick one way out and the next the other way. Once I start driving and it sees which way I’m going, it corrects.
Yeah the app really doesn’t know which way you are facing until you move.

When Waze starts up, it assumes that you are still travelling in the direction you were driving when you stopped (as long as you are on the same road).
Waze always gets initial direction wrong for me. Just start driving in the direction that makes sense to you, and Waze will recalculate.
I would’ve thought they would have found a way to use the compass by now
