We are now starting a process of adding new maps in Japan.
If you edit in Japan, you’ll notice a big message letting you know that editing in Japan should be halted until this process is over.
The reason you should STOP EDITING is that all edits you do from this moment on will be lost once we complete the map integration!
All the edits you have done so far will not be lost. They are added to the new maps and the result will be a map combined with your edits and the new streets.
This process should take a few weeks. We will keep you update on the progress and once it is completed.
So no more gaining easy points for map editing anymore? Bummer…
BTW, I did not notice any message but when I found I couldn’t do any editing I automatically made a connection with a message received about Hakuhoudo this morning. So they are going to do all the maps now?
Oh, no, no, no! Your work has just begun. An import of a basemap doesn’t mean that everything will be complete and navigable. On the contrary, you’ll have to set directions and turn restrictions and make corrections.
Believe me, you don’t know the meaning of easy points yet!
In retrospect, I’m glad this is happening. The Active membership here is not big and most of us seem to be lone wolfers so there seems to be no consensus on road classification, how to map 2 storey roads (expressway on top, national highway on the bottom, etc)
「While you were editing, the elements you’re trying to save have been modified and/or deleted」が
出まくります。これだけぐちゃぐちゃでMapProblemが自動発報してないってのも謎… ああ…
