Subs5 on top? Color me not shocked ![]()
Well done, but still some work to do ![]()
But I will say the backlog has been eliminated. I don’t think there are any URs over 16 days old without comments. The work is ongoing, rather than piling up. This is great progress.
In Nova I think nearly all of the open URs are being actively worked. If we ever had 100% closed URs, that would mean that we were not giving reporters a chance to respond.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not a contest!

edit:
My comments is for new editors who might think there is a contest to add comments to URs and/or close them.
I welcome constructive PM and GHO messages about my editing and UR management.
It most certainly is not a contest. That is why MOST of us that are active in the community are a-ok with help from others on closing out (especially) unresponsive URs, such as the ones of “yours” that I closed out tonight that were 8 days old and had a 4th day warning…as per the Virginia WIKI Page. I really couldn’t care less about edit counts or UR counts. Just trying to help out in my home state. Since you DO seem to believe it is a contest, though, I will avoid “your” URs. Please don’t leave them hanging for too long, though…and if you run across one of “mine” that you can solve or meets the 1/4/8 criteria for closing, please close it.
The Maryland Editors also do this occasionally. One thing it shows is that there are a lot of URs. So between DC, MD, and WV, there are a ton of URs.
If you get editable area in NoVA, I am more than happy for you to take any or all of the URs. If I posted initial reply or reminder, doesn't matter. My URs are your URs. The whole point is to make the map better.
Many a time an R1 or R2 can see something that I miss or don't know about the local conditions or "traditions". The more everyone pitches in the better. Plus we have happier users who hopefully will send enough info to fix problems vice the no GPS or rec route or description reports....
If I think someone may know something, then I will either PM or GHO them. And others do it to me too. Sort of tag team wrestling. Keeps it interesting and fun.
I think it is more a competition to see if we can knock off more than 50% of the URs a week, to keep the count from growing like the national debt.
Back in this thread about implementing the 1/4/8 rule we talked about making this a team aspect, but respecting the fact that some editors would like to maintain control or needed the experience of URs and that this would be handled on a case by case basis. I was under the impression that everyone agreed to this premise. However, issues have started to crop up and a few editors have gotten more outside help than they wanted. While I STRONGLY support and encourage teamwork while handling URs, I think we should all consider that not everyone has the same amount of URs in their area and this could effect their opinion on how they should be handled. So, it is probably time to go back to that thread and voice are concerns and formalize our state specific etiquette for the VA Wiki.
As an update to the State of the State, this is this weeks stats
