I think you could use the GPS elevation data and alert drivers for a steep downhill or steep uphill.
and as always, make it user choice if these alerts are to be given or not
Due to how GPS position is calculated, altitude data has a very large error rate.
What’s the benefit of this information? Would you also want an ‘avoid steep hill’ filter when calculating routes?
Yes. Avoiding a large incline in favor of a longer, flatter route would be cool. Waaay in the future, but a nifty idea. I choose the flatter route every day despite Waze’s insistence on the shorter/more gas hungry (and icy in the winter) route.
