We know that actual Street View in GM provides pictures from different dates. I think it would be great to switch times to check road modifications and even get better pictures from house numbers, for example
I often have to perform corrections in house numbers in my city, but sometimes I can’t get important numbers due to lack of good pictures. Images from other dates fill these “holes” and make it possible to complete the corrections.
We can also check if some places are obsolete or not.
Definitely something that would bring benefits to the SV functionality within WME. Not just for being able to go back in time to find clearer images of house numbers etc, but also because in some places the default imagery served up isn’t the most recent capture, and this can lead to some confusion when trying to use SV to resolve URs or just do general map maintenance…
I wanted to make new Feature request or even a Bug, but I think this thread might fit well.
Recently I noticed that by default Street View doesn’t switch to latest imagery available! Instead, I think it switches to “recent best quality” imagery. This is also same behavior as in Google Maps. So, my suggestion is to add Timeline support to Street View!
