Came across this segment and was wondering how best to treat them for now I have made a name with a walking segment. I dont want to name the street at the back of the houses Unity Ter. In the past i have tried using alternative name but dont think that works for navigation so after some advice how to name a street with this type of layout eg one name on left another on right
An example of a dual named street that I am aware of is this segment in South Shields, Tyne and Wear.
The north side is Urfa Terrace while the south side is Woodlands Terrace, thankfully with Urfa being the odd numbers and Woodlands being the even numbers.
The segment is currently unnamed as a result. It’s well outside my editing area, but I used to have family living there.
I see this quite often where I edit as well. Alt names seem to work okay for navigating to the segment, but not house numbers. In that case, I would have used residential places. But that is very time consuming.
I had never considered what leocylau said about adding footpaths… Would you have an example of where that method has been used?
Have a look along A236 - Mitcham Rd, Thornton Heath. There are a set of footpaths I created along it with different names which have their own sequence of house numbers. There have been 0 URs raised along this section of Mitcham Rd complaining of incorrect navigation, but that may just because nobody wants to go there!
