As many of you know, Waze made some structural changes quite a while ago to what is now called Waze Discuss. Both our forum here and our wiki, Wazeopedia, are located there.
We may have our opinions about the user-friendliness, but it is what it is — not much we can do about it.
I have finally asked Waze to add a number of new subcategories (no, we can’t do it ourselves) in addition to the ones that already exist, the colorful cards (or card) above.
Several of the pinned threads will move into these new categories, so we’ll have fewer pinned items in the main feed and a better overview there.
I’ll get back to you when this is in place.
A question for the community: I’ve suddenly found that both old and new threads are being fully translated into English. It’s very annoying that it’s a mix — are you seeing the same thing, for example, with the thread about the new school zones? Skolzoner, ny funktion i Waze rullas ut - #39 by mahava
Right now I see the school zone thread in Swedish, but I have sometimes seen other unnecessarily translated discussions over the past few months. It might depend on which computer I’m using.
I’m also getting the thread in Swedish on both Android and Windows 11. I have a feeling that I’ve seen something that was likely translated in the last month. Unfortunately, I don’t remember what it was about.
Yeah, mine’s getting translated too. It’s really weird; I’ve been trying to find out what’s causing it. I thought it was just a “me issue” Doesn’t seem to be any setting I can change. Are the rest of you who are seeing this also running your OS in English on your phone/computer?
Another question: To see the latest threads, do the rest of you have to click “Top” and then sort by “Latest” twice? Or maybe do a search for the past week or something?
As for translations: when I’m at the “main level”, i.e., seeing all the threads, some have an English intro/first post but a Swedish title, while others have both the title and introductory text in English. However, when I open one of the English threads, all the text becomes Swedish, with some exceptions where the title remains in English. A mess!
Nu har det börjat hända saker här i forumet, men helt utan återkoppling från Waze att det gjort något. Så jag vet inte om det ens är klara. Det finns förbättringspotential så att säga.
Ett antal nya kort har i varje fall nu skapats här ovan som tidigare var fästa trådar.
Extremt störande att språket hoppar mellan engelska och svenska fortfarande, ska se om jag kan hitta något om detta.
Nu har jag gått igenom det vi bad om och i stort har det blivit som tänkt. Det finns nu ett antal nya kategorier (färgglada kort) högst upp sidan där vi nu flyttat upp ett antal av den fastnålade trådarna vi hade tidigare.
Nästa steg blir vår Wiki där liknade strukturförändringar kommer att ske framöver.
