We’ve received a map update request to Waze support and we’re posting here on the user’s behalf. The link to this post will be forwarded for the user to follow up.
This is the user’s request: We have multiple patients who input our address into waze in which it sends them to the wrong location. As stated in our previous email, waze is sending patients to South Service Road and Oriole Road instead of 1380 South Service Road, Stoney Creek ON, L8E5C5 [corner of Fifty Point Road and South Service Road]. Can you please fix this.
I was having some difficulty reproducing the bad location until I searched for “1380 south service, ston”, at which point I was able to get it. This result comes from Google, it is not a Waze address. I went to Google Maps and suggested an edit, we’ll see if they approve it or not.
However, If this business really wants to improve navigation for their patients, they should take the time to create a Waze Place for their business (start the process in the Waze app at the front door of the office, then take a few steps back to take a photo, then complete the rest of the new Place process), and suggest to their patients to navigate by the business name and not the street address. Navigating by business name almost always gives more accurate driving directions using the available parking lot roads.
The bad search result is corrected now in Google Maps (they accepted and published my change), but in Waze the Google result is still there (and identified as a non-Waze result). See my DM in Discord.
