Hi, Does anyone know what the significance of the off ramps are on the S18, in the middle of the lake. Surely no road planner would be daft enough to put them in and then allow motorists to drive onto said ramps?!
If you look closely enough in aerial shots one motorist is doing just that.

Did you mean the exit & entrance of the off-ramp on S19 (Not S18)? I best guess is they are future connection to southern airport terminal. :roll:
Besides, the GPS points seems to suggest there are new configuration on intersection between S18 & S19. S19 might go under the S18 and join up to S110 further north.
It seems they are for further connections. I saw similar thing in Newcastle but new roads have never been built.
The vehicles you saw possible are kind of Highway maintenance or someone stopped there for scene viewing :lol:
