One-line summary:
Please add Siri Shortcut support so users can mute Waze voice alerts hands-free and, if technically possible, stop the app or fully disable its alerts in one command.
Post text:
I would like to request support for Siri Shortcuts in Waze, especially for hands-free control while driving.
A very useful option would be a Shortcut action such as:
-
Mute Waze voice alerts
-
Unmute Waze voice alerts
-
Mute for a defined time (for example 5, 10, or 30 minutes)
-
Stop Waze navigation/audio output
-
If allowed by iOS: close/exit Waze
-
If iOS does not allow closing the app: fully stop alerts, voice prompts, and background audio until Waze is opened again or manually re-enabled
Example use case:
A user could say “Hey Siri, mute Waze” or “Hey Siri, stop Waze” without touching the phone.
This would be helpful for situations where:
-
the user needs silence immediately
-
voice alerts are temporarily not wanted
-
the app should stop giving notifications in the background
-
safer hands-free control is needed while driving
Even if a full app close is not technically possible on iPhone due to iOS restrictions, it would still be very useful if Waze could provide a Shortcut that effectively silences the app and stops all ongoing alerts.
This would improve usability, accessibility, and safety.
