Official Waterford Council Notification:

Saw the closure myself today; only running till 8PM on the 4th Jan (see above).
If the closure can auto-expire - might be worth adding in as I’ve been fixing one way streets, restrictions etc around that area today.

Hi Dough,

Thanks for sharing this closure, better late than never

Your permalink didn’t take me to the segment however I’m 99% certain this is the correct one. Nevertheless, could you please confirm?

Yep - that’s the right one…

Thanks for catching this.

For any future closures in Waterford as a whole, they should show up here: https://waterfordcouncilnews.com/

Thanks David

You would certainly think that - but I scanned that page and could find no mention of the “Winterval” road closures - it was by googling that I found the PDF containing the details I posted:
http://www.waterfordcouncil.ie/media/newspaper-adverts/2018/october/WCC647%20Winterval.pdf

Reverse link searching to that pdf - it suggests this is a good (additional?) place to look, as it contains their public media announcements, including the one I referenced:
http://www.waterfordcouncil.ie/media/newspaper-adverts/index.htm

FYI - I spotted an anomaly between this:
http://www.waterfordcouncil.ie/media/newspaper-adverts/2018/october/WCC639%20TRC%20Arundel%20Square.pdf
and the actual bollard timing signage in Arundel Square, Waterford. (The ad says Mon-Sun; the signs say Mon-Sat).

As I’m trying to reflect that accurately in Waze, I rang the Waterford Traffic Management department about it just now; they expressed some surprise and are going to dig into it and ring me back… I pointed them at their ad and sent on the photos I took yesterday.

Oho - thanks for all the digging. I only found https://waterfordcouncilnews.com/ a couple of days ago and was hoping it had everything, so having another resource is pretty useful. Shame it’s not necessarily correct though.

It’s great to have somebody on the ground in Waterford. I’m in Wicklow myself, so I’m not often in Waterford.
