One description worries us.
The description on the welcome page is: toll_id = one direction of a toll road.
Does that mean that this rule must be strictly adhered to? For all toll roads, ferries and so on?
You could also edit a toll road through
one toll_id,
one section,
and two segments in two directions.(A-B)(B-A).
We have several toll roads working well in the US that use one toll for both directions, both with section prices and matrix prices. Staff have said (in the APAC webinar and in our Discord channel about this project) that at least for entry/exit matrices both directions should be included in one toll. It would be nice to get further clarification that they’re cool with doing this for pay-per-section tolls.
We too were confused and asked about it, see alsothis post.
Staff confirmed to us it would be ok, and our tests shows it works. So I think it is just a preference, but I don’t know why.
The only thing I could imagine is, that it’s always a one-way on freeways. So you have, a north and a south direction for example. Perhaps this was the intention … ?
