Hey everybody!
Ever wanted to get a notification whenever the map server processed your edits? Look no further!

These notifications are based on the data available at https://status.waze.com/ Both ROW and NA are supported. IL is not (yet) available, I’m afraid.
This system relies on the webhook functionality available in both Slack and Discord. Through webhooks it is possible to send messages to a channel chosen by you.
If you want to ask to add notifications to a channel you manage, please send me a private message about it. These webhook links don’t have any protection on them, so if you expose them here on the forum, other people can abuse them by sending nonsense messages to them, spamming your channel. There may even exist automated tools out there that scour the internet for such links.
This is the information I will need you to send me in a PM:
1. The webhook URL
The most important information of it all. This is where the notifications are sent to.
Slack: go to this page, add a configuration that posts to a channel of your choice, give it a name and a label. All I need is the URL that gets generated.
Discord: see this page. All I need is the URL that gets generated.
Example: https://hooks.slack.com/services/XXXXXXX/XXXXXX/XXXXXXXXXXXXX or https://discordapp.com/api/webhooks/XXXXXXX/XXXXXXXXXXXXX
2. The area we’re talking about
I need to know whether we’re talking about the NA or ROW server. For housekeeping I also prefer to add for myself which Slack or Discord an URL belongs to.
Example: Waze Global & MR Discord
3. The timezone of the area
Please give me the name of the timezone of the area, as defined here. This way the times shown in the notification can be localized. This also makes the dates in the image align correctly to your local time.
Example: Europe/Brussels
Again: don’t post those details below. Send them in a private message ![]()
The notifications link to a web page with information about the recent map updates: https://wazebelgium.be/mapupdate/ The page doesn’t contain a lot of information, it might be expanded in the future. There are no solid plans for doing so yet though.
