Hi,

Is there a way to request that speed bumps appear as such and not as speed reducers in the app?

In Waze, there are two types of hazards that are grouped together under the name Speed Bumps:

Speed reducers are visual, without voice (Type 1):

Speed bumps (Topes) are visual and feature a voice alert (Type 2):

As the Waze code stands right now, I don’t think that by enabling the May cause vehicle damage option, the name can be changed from Speed Reducer to Speed Bump.

Hazard type:
- 1: 'Reductores de velocidad'
- 2: 'Topes'
- 3: 'Cabina de peaje'
  ...

For the moment, you can submit a suggestion to the Waze Suggestion Box so they can be ungrouped and their names changed.

Do we know if the algorithm for when the notification appears in the app changes between the two?

I’ll look into it this week, as I’m swamped with work due to the time of year.

But I think if I do find something, it’s information that Waze normally doesn’t share or disclose in open forums.

Does the app only say Speed Bumps in English?
