The Waze text-to-speech function currently mispronounces Nerge Road and Roselle Road in IL. Could someone please apply a phonetic fix to the entire length of these roads? I have lived in Schaumburg, IL for my entire life so I know the local pronunciations.
Nerge Rd.: It used to read it as “NURJ” road, and then it got changed to “NURJ-ee”, both of which are not correct. It is supposed to be “NURG-ee”, with the “g” pronounced as a hard G. You can fact-check this by calling the Nerge Elementary School phone number where the pronunciation is used + videos from that school on YouTube if you’d like!
Roselle Rd.: It currently pronounces it as “Roh-SEL”, with the “s” attached to the second syllable. The true pronunciation puts the “s” with the first syllable so that the first syllable sounds like the rose flower. So, it’s supposed to have that kind of “z” sound that the flower name has…“ROHZ-el”. Same thing with looking at videos from the town to fact-check if you’d like.
