Am I going senile or do I remember talk about TTS Road Names etc, rather than just ‘Turn Left’ etc?
You’re just remembering faint talk from across the pond (where we have TTS).
I cannot fathom why the world routing servers aren’t updated to speak at least the english names. But, again, I think this is an issue just like why the client voice commands aren’t available outside the US/Canada yet.They don’t know or have completed how to handle multiple language support yet.
We have a thread in the UK forum where we’re collecting the few things that Waze would need to tweak before they officially* enable it. Not many, just a few things. Nuance has a great British voice just waiting to be used. 
(*If you poke about in the settings file, you’ll find a switch to unofficially enable it. Usual caveats apply).
Ahhhh cool, sure I wasn’t going bad. Good to know it’s still somewhere in the pipeline.
