Just started trying out Waze, so this question may seem quite rudimentary to some.
I use Waze through Apple CarPlay. To access the app, I click the ACP icon, then the Waze icon. Activates and works fine.
However, when I wish to turn it off (and use the OEM navigation, for example), I will click on the “button” in the lower left of the screen to return Waze to an icon only. I then open the other Nav system, thinking Waze is off and not playing in the background. However, the Waze voice will still, verbally, notify me of traffic situations, suggesting it is not actually off.
Can’t seem to figure out a (easy) way to close down the app via the vehicle screen and ensure it is not open in the background. Any help is appreciated.
