When I’m approaching a police icon, sometimes a pop-up appears which let’s me say if the police car is there or not, which is a great feature. But how come if I press the police icon I get a popup of who reported the police car, but I can’t report if the police car is still there or not? I don’t always have a chance to respond to the automatic pop-up in time.
Also, the automatic pop-up doesn’t appear every time, how come?
If you would be allowed to press on the report and say the cop is not there, then anybody would be able to do the same, even if they are not near the report. I think the police pop up appears if there is a confirmed cop. If somebody responded “Not There” the icon remains on the map to give you a general warning, but there is no pop up.
Do you suppose that this would be a problem? Is the worry that someone with malicious intent would remove the reports? I too would like to remove them when there is no cop present.
I went through some areas last week where the officer had moved on. He was not at the original location mentioned (said it was two motorcycle officers). Could not report that they were not there. Found them five miles up the road and marked them there. That put them on the map twice.
This is functioning as designed and I don’t think it needs a change. At best, perhaps someone traveling on the same road in the opposite direction could be allowed to make the clearing, but no one else. Too easy to abuse and remove valid ones. If someone wants to be a jerk, make them work for it. That’s at the expense of some flexibility, but I think it’s worth it.
