Unable to report. I’m sure it’s not just me.
I have been unable to report anything for the last few days via Apple CarPlay. I’ve also noticed a significant lack of reports from other users too. I can still report fine via my iPhone 14 when not connected to CarPlay. When connected to CarPay, tapping the report hazard icon on my vehicle display does nothing. The icon will flash, but nothing opens.
There are normally plenty of other users in my area too, I rarely drive past police or roadworks without someone who already reported the hazard. However, in the last few days I haven’t seen any other hazards reported either.
Hello there
What version of iOS are you running?
IOS 18 (Beta) - it has worked fine on Beta before though. Something only changed in the last week or so. I’ve updated to the latest version of Waze too.
I’ve tried a range of different things to fix this issue, I have upgraded to the newest version of Waze, I have restarted my phone, I have disconnected my phone from my CarPlay and then reconnected it, I have tried changing various settings in the Waze app, however nothing seems to change or fix my error. Any time the Waze app is connected to my car via USB cable to CarPlay. I’m unable to select report hazard via the touchscreen in my car display. If I disconnect the cable, I can select report hazard via my phone. Once I connect the cable again and CarPlay opens on my car display I’m not able to select report hazard via the car display. When I touch the screen, the report hazard ICON appears to flash briefly, but then nothing.
Thank you
The problem is something in iOS 18 Beta 4 (and still persisting in 18.1). It is a known bug and Waze has reached out to Apple for a solution.
Stay tuned…

I have been advised the latest iOS beta fixes this problem but haven’t had any confirmation yet. You might want to give it a go.
Thank you! So far so good. Just updated to IOS18 Beta5 and Waze is working via wireless CarPlay. I’ll double check with my car via usb when I get home, but it’s looking promising!
It worked! iOS 18 beta 5 software update fixed my problem. Thank you.
