So, while adding local businesses and addresses, I accidentally put the wrong address for one and saved it. How do I go back and correct my change?
Just go back to the business in the editor and change the address to the correct one and hit save again.
It sounds like this was a place you submitted via the app? You’ve got a few options.
Easiest is… what’s the name and correct address? We can locate it in the map editor and fix it quick.
Depending on how many places you’ve submitted in the past, your place submissions might require moderation, meaning that they appear as what’s called a “place update request” in the map editor. Easiest way to tell is if you see the pins in the map editor where you’ve submitted places via the app (or if they appear on places you’ve modified in the editor). Eventually, you become a “trusted” user and your place submissions go live immediately, meaning that other users will be able to see them in search results within the app.
Thanks for your help with places! To make the best possible contribution it’s helpful to provide as much data as possible about places as you create them, but at a minimum they should have a correct name, address number and street, and a high quality photo if you submit through the app. We as map editors then go through and “harmonize” places to add details like phone numbers, business hours, and navigation stop points, among other things.
