Uniting Waze Users - Localization

After some back and forth tweeting, we wanted to bring this up to the community for your feedback.

We were discussing ways of uniting Wazers with their respective local Wazers. Facebook groups have been starting to pop up. But thinking in keeping things centralized, we discussed possibly having sub forums for different areas run by the respective Area Manager(s). This would allow local Wazers to discuss issues/concerns amongst themselves, and for things the Area Manager can’t answer, give the Area Manager a super duper secret bat line to contact Waze directly to get the answers.

For example, just getting proper naming conventions would be a good topic (like why is the Turnpike down here called West Dade Highway, no calls it that  ) New road construction is another big one, especially since so many people don’t read/watch the tutorials.

Thoughts?

I actually like it, instead of having 1 thread per area… +1

Nice, its a good thing to get this forum organized, specially the country forums.
beginners faq
region threads
etc

I would even start moving post’s… I know I’ve done it myself post in the wrong spot or didn’t go in the sub thread sort things out a bit  lots of thoughts and suggestions end up just under general Myself included has done this

This is a great idea. I think people may be more inclined to participate if this was the case. Who knows, maybewe could get more people to actually help edit also.

I must say I -strongly- agree…

The non-English-speaking countries have their own forum, but in the UK, we don’t get to have our own forum, which is a shame.

I don’t like having to trawl through a ton of irrelevant posts to get to the ones I"m interested in - (and the problem is compounded as I"m using RSS - and therefore am always notified of all the non-English posts, which I have to wade through to find the ones I’m interested in.)

In the US, the forums should first be on the level of the metro area by default. Then, after time, if there is enough interest in subdividing that forum into smaller areas by area manager then that would work.

Right, now I don’t see enough Wazers in the area that I manage to have a specific sub-forum. But, in the greater metro area it would work.

Yeah this a great idea! Maybe utilize the regional forums, with perhaps one big thread for general things applying to the country and than add subforums for every state or province, and then keep subdividing as the user base grows until ultimately one area of town gets a subforum. Right now country forum for each and a state/province subforum should suffice followed by city subforums for the bigger ones in each state/province!
