Hey all, I am wondering if someone can help update the roadways and parking roads for the new pickup and dropoff zone at Universal Studios Orlando, which was launched in August 2019. I’ve included images that may be able to help:

I’ve made some changes based on what you have provided and hope you may be able to confirm everything looks correct.
Is this ramp entrance/lot only for drop off and pickup purposes related to Uber, Lyft, etc? If not, what all does it serve?
Is the existing public parking garage exit unchanged and still flowing to both Universal Blvd or Major Blvd underneath this pickup/drop-off ramp?
Does this new pickup/drop-off lot have an official name? I want to add the lot to ensure proper routing in Waze utilizing the new entrance.

Hey @itzwolf – thank you for updating this! Everything you updated looks correct.
You are correct, the new ramp/entrance and lot are only for pickup/dropoff. Primarily Uber/Lyft use that area, but it is also designated for parent/family pickup and dropoff as well. Universal Orlando calls it the “Pick-up and Drop-off” location (link). On Google Maps, it’s called “Guest Dropoff and Ride Share”
The new pickup area doesn’t impact any of the other parking ramp operations, as this new entrance ramp was converted from purely an exit ramp to a two-way entrance/exit for the pickup/dropoff area. So, to answer your question more clearly, while I can’t say with 100% certainty, I believe the existing public garage exit is unchanged.
Great news! Now that the roadway is confirmed I have added a new place that you can navigate to named “Uber / Lyft / Taxi - Pick-up / Drop-off - Universal Studios”. I’ve linked the Google place in Waze to aid with navigation.
That brings up the question of the old drop-off location. Do you know if this one is still valid?
Two things:
- The old drop-off is no longer valid for rideshare or cars (family/parent pickup)* Taxi’s do still use the Bus Loop for pickup and dropoff though. Mears has an exclusive deal with Universal (I believe) which allows them to park and pickup in the bus loop – so they should not be listed on your new place you created.
Gotcha. I’ve modified the places accordingly and they should now be live and searchable in the application.
