Unlock L4-3, Jakarta Timur (DI Panjaitan, Jakarta Timur)

My Level: 3
Reason for request:

  • Making a correction regarding TTS Turn instructions:

on segment: Permalink

Direction ST. Jatinegara/KP. Melayu via Taman Simpang Jatinegara

because that Turn Instruction has a different pronunciation.

Direction station
Jatinegara Islands
Melayu via Taman
Simpang Jatinegara

Anyway, I see there is a new convention regarding VIA which is not shown on the road signs.

Is this a new rule? And was it not announced in the forum?
Considering that the change was made by level 6 editor Budiyanto on June 30, 2026.

If this is indeed a new rule and is allowed in Waze,
then I am ready to change all Turn Instructions to use via

and if permitted to add it, “via” should preferably be written in full according to the route taken.

For example, if from Taman Simpang Jatinegara towards Kampung Melayu, the Turn Instruction becomes:
Stasiun Jatinegara / Kampung Melayu Via Taman Simpang Jatinegara Via Bekasi Barat Raya and Via Jatinegara Timur

Note:
And if there are no comments / objections within a few days, then the mechanism for using this new convention can be automatically applied nationwide.

This is for everyone’s information and can be used as a basis for making improvements / adding new Turn Instruction features in the Waze Map in the future.

Thank you.

It has been unlocked; please fix it and revert it to standard. The changes made by the individual concerned were without community approval and are not part of the established rules, which is why there is no information about them on the forum.

Alright sir, if that was indeed done without community approval and is not an established rule, then why is it being tolerated by the community?

Something was done, but without community approval and without any sanctions being imposed.
Is it because the person in question gets a special exception for being level 6?

As I recall, in the past when I made an editing mistake in the Waze Map Editor, I was immediately reprimanded and threatened with a permanent ban ( see this forum )

However, this is not the case with what Level 6 editor Budiyanto has done.
I’ll take an example here :

Changes have been made by him since May 2026. But until today, they haven’t been questioned at all and he was still editing as of August 202
