Works to the A412 in Maple Cross has created 2 lanes in the northbound direction approaching the M25 spur roundabout.
As part of this a central reservation has been introduced restricting the N/Bright turn into the sewage works and S/B right turn to Wood Oaks Farm.
Please unlock A412 segments highlighted in permalink so that I can update no right turns and lane number changes following the works above.
Hi, you should be able to disable the necessary turns by making the edits and submitting them as a suggestion. Is there anything you aren’t able to do this way?
Please do not worry about the number of lanes as it is not a requirement to set them on roads like this.
Just to ask though - the new road configuration in the N/B direction has a left lane for the A412/M25 spur ONLY and the right hand lane for accessing the roundabout. Does that scenario not benefit from lane numbering to notify drivers to keep left / keep right depending on routing?
That lane guidance is still correct, however the two lanes have now been extended a fair distance further south from that segment, the left turn & straight on lane config now extends south across the revised junction with the Sewage Works and Wood Oaks Farm up to and including segment id: 251867376.
Having driven through there this week the M25 was blocked and the left hand lane was queuing whilst the right hand lane was clear. I think this is a reason for the road layout change in order to avoid this queuing delaying traffic heading into Rickmansworth. As I see it directions are correct but drivers would benefit from being notified earlier to be in the correct lane.
Is there a physical separation between the lanes further back or is it just some hatched markings? I can see the road was widened in the most recent satellite imagery but I can’t tell what the layout looks like.
