Unlock Request (Construction): Cave City, KY lvl 5

Exit 53 from southbound I-65 is currently closed due to construction. I tried restricting the turns off of the exit, but they are locked with a level 5.

With the new updates are there ways to mark the road as closed, or am I doing this correctly.

To answer your question, both ways.

On the app, there’s a ROAD CLOSED section which allows you to close a road segment, but I don’t know how long that lasts, or what happens to it. I haven’t been able to determine it.

If you know that the road is going to be closed for construction, the best thing to do is to disconnect the road just as txemt did.
other option is perhaps to use “road closure option” at the client. To do that you need to be in the area. If you are in the area, you can pick the road being closed by selecting the arrow pointing to that road. You would select: in this case construction.
Next is to pick the duration of the closure. these are your options at the client:
-unknown,
-less than an hour,
-several hours,
-all day,
-several days, and
-long therm
I hope this helps.

How long is the “long term” effect?

Good question. I’ll ask Waze.

While you’re asking, find out if any of these reports can make it to the editor as URs.

I will…

I put one up this morning in my apt complex…it’s been…9 hours since I did, and it’s still in the app, but hasn’t hit the editor (unless someone cleared it, and I haven’t gotten an email about it) so… I don’t think it goes on the editor.

Going to the editor feature has not been implemented yet.

Via my iPhone 3GS.

So…how long is it going to stay in the app?

Here is the response:
"
Well, “Long term” closure should be used when there are heavy construction on roads, that will affect the routing for more than 3 or 4 days.

The creation of UR is not yet ready, but I believe it should be available in a matter of weeks."

there you have it
