Reason: This road goes from a 40mph road into a 30 mph road for a mile or so and then goes back into a 40mph road again.

Since this was your first post, welcome to Waze editing and the Waze forum. 
Have you seen the Quickstart guide?
Map editing experience can be useful, but local knowledge is priceless. Waze works best with lots of editors who really know their own patch, so please don’t hesitate to join in. You will find it a nuisance that some of the roads you want to edit are “locked”, but as you already know, a post to this forum will sort that out.

Some of those are already 30mph, I think I’ve unlocked all the others.
The way of splitting a road segment, so that for example you can have different speed limits on the two halves, is so crazy that I think it must have been devised a work-around to cope with missing function in an early version of WME (Waze Map Editor). And then, since it works, they’ve never bothered to come up with an elegant solution.
So what you have to do is draw a new road which joins your existing road segment at the point you want it split. And then delete the new road! The creation of the new road cuts the existing segment in two at the join. And deleting the new road doesn’t remove that split.
Not sure that it makes any practical difference, but I notice from your links that you have editor language set to US English. We speak proper English over here.
You can change the language in settings; that’s the cog icon in the left-hand panel.

Hi Ian,
I believe I have done the corrections to the road correctly. Could you feel free to check for me. Once you have confirmed I have split the road and not accidentally hidden a second road underneath it you can feel free to lock the nodes. I believe the changes to 30mph that where made in some segments where not there earlier when I posted, I believe they changed when I reported them when I drove past it automatically changed.
