Unlock request in Joliet, Illinois

Hi Editors,

I would like to be able to edit the following segments. Please allow turn from Maple Rd into unpaved road leading into Rancho Los Guzman and its parking lots.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

I went ahead and allowed the turns. While I was there I made some adjustments to the parking lot road you drew. First, PLRs do not need to be marked as unpaved, it doesn’t really change routing, nor does it change app display like the Off Road/Not Maintained type does. Second, every segment drawn needs either a name or [None] checked as well as a city or [none] checked. I fixed that, and you’ll notice that the roads are no longer red. Finally, the Places Wiki has some important information regarding places, such as restaurants. All of the above are common things that new editors do, so you aren’t alone.

Thanks and welcome to Waze editing.

Thank you for the information, it will help to learn the intricacies as I learn the basics of mapping and the software.

Best regards,
Arthur

Hello,

Regardless of our changes we’ve made, Rancho Los Guzman location on Maple St does not show on live map an entrance off of Maple street nor the parking lot road created. How do we go about fixing this?

Thank you,
Arthur

I am seeing the PLR in the app and also in Livemap. For Livemap, it could be dependent on your zoom

Sorry, I wasn’t descriptive enough. When I plugged in the address to the app used by Waze users, navigation ends in the middle of Maple Rd. Same goes if using name of the restaurant as a destination.

I have made a small change to the stop point of the place which appears to work in my app.

You should be able to search by name and get directions up the PLR.
Searching by address still routes to the entrance of the PLR, but I added an Residential Place Point (RPP) that will hopefully help with that in a few days.

Sounds good, thank you. I’ll check it out in a couple of days when the software refreshes.

In my area, we have several warehouses that are set back hundreds of feet away from the road with private roads leading to them, which is why I’m trying to learn how to properly edit the map so it works properly in Waze user app, so thank you for your guidance.
